veikindi gullfiska
my goldfishes have some red spots on the mouth and start to feel like sick, always on the bottom. and sometimes head up like standing, and jump a bit like gasping for air. is there anyone knows what is going on?
jup, you mean daela? yes, there is filter so the water keep moving a bit after the filter, the tanks is about 72-80 L and I do have air bulb 1, do I need more? actually i just changed water not so long ago... but i can do it again. just 50%? there are 8 goldfishes in there but 3 kind of bigger about 10 cm with tail and the rests are small 3-7 cm. is that too crowded? this amonia level too high caused by what? just wonder how to prevent it? but only 1 is kind of gasping for air and she/he has big belly, i thought might be having eggs:) i noticed 1 other kind of have redness too but is okey and so the rests are fine too. well, at least they swimming around like happy:) thanks
Yup, just done changing the water. Hope tomorrow the fish will be better. I usually changed the water about 2-3 weeks and 75%. I like the clean water... Is it okey to changed 100% new water, make it tottally clean? Btw, can I used the hot water from the tap? I mean sometimes it smells so strong!! Or put all cold water and let the heater do its job? Maybe something from the hot water influenced the fish? Or maybe I just need a BIGGER fish tank and thanks Vargur!
You should NOT change the water 100% since that will kill the cicle in the tank. Just change water once a week about 40-50% and then change 75% every 2-3 weeks. That way you keep your water clean and you still have a good bacteria cicle in the tank. just remember to allso change your filter/filters as needed.
It is ok to use the hot tap water here in iceland. just find the correct temp. of the water and pour it into the tank compared to what heat is prefered in your tank. I use the hot water here all the time and it's never been a problem in any of my tanks.
If you pour to cold or to hot water in it might mess up the fishes. so just pour in the correct temp. of water.
Good luck with you fishes and hope they get better soon

Well this particular 1, is still on the bottom. Actually it's been there for quite some time, but when it started gasping for air then I start to worry. Well so far none of my fish has died so want to keep it that way
I just wondering or hoping it just laying eggs
Btw, is anybody how how to see the sex of goldfish?
